Embodiment Lab at Home, Virtual Practice

Best Date Night Ever

A 50-minute guided practice for two.
Recorded live inside Embodiment Lab, now yours to run in your own
room.

You already know how to have sex with each other. That's the problem.

Long partnership builds shortcuts. You know the sequence. You know what works. You can get there in twelve minutes and still feel like you were both somewhere else.

This practice removes the shortcuts on purpose. No kissing. No genitals. Nothing you already do. What's left is the part most couples skip: eyes, breath, and the willingness to be seen while something true is moving through you.

It's 50 minutes. Lisa and her co-facilitator talk you through every minute of it, the same way they do in the live room. You don't plan anything. You press play, sit down facing each other, and follow.

The two positions this practice asks you to hold

She who must be felt.
He who does not look away.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What the 50 minutes actually does

Each chapter is marked, so you can find your way back to any part of it on a second or fifth run.

1. The container

You state your boundaries out loud to each other, and you learn the word that stops everything.

2. Left eye to left eye

Breath low in the belly.

Nowhere to get to, nothing to fix, nothing to perform yet.

3. I feel

She names what's true.

He receives it without
solving it.

The last words for a long while.

4. Eyes closed

She moves and sounds without being watched. He feels her without looking. This is where the self-consciousness goes.

5. Eyes open

She shows him what she found. Frustration, playfulness, grief, wildness. He stays.

6. The space

Desire, fully visible, with a hand held an inch off the skin.

Nobody closes the distance.

7. Her gift

She touches first.

He receives instead of leading, and lets her know it lands.

8. His lead

Slow, firm, unmistakable.

He takes a risk.

She responds honestly, including when the answer is no.

9. Quarter speed

Everything you built, taken down to molasses, without dropping a drop of it.

10. The bow

Three breaths. One for you, one for them, one for what's between you. Then you tell each other what you loved.

END

Ready to start?

Be honest about which side you're on

Press play if:

  • You're partnered, and you've quietly stopped surprising each other.

  • Sex has become efficient, and you both know it.

  • You want to be wanted without having to ask to be wanted.

  • Polarity work interests you, but sitting in a circle of strangers does not.

  • You have 50 uninterrupted minutes and a room with a door.

Skip it if:

  • You want technique, positions, or a bedroom checklist. There is none here.

  • You're hoping to do it alone. It does not work alone.

  • Your partner hasn't actually agreed. Asked and said yes, not told.

  • There's an unaddressed rupture between you. See a therapist first, then come back.

  • You need to be good at things immediately.

PRACTICE RULES AND REGULATIONS

The rules are the reason it's safe

These come from the Weinland and Deida workshop tradition, and they hold for the full 50 minutes even though you're a couple and even though you're at home. Lisa states them at the top of the recording. You state them to each other.

Established couples often find the restrictions the most liberating part. Habit gets taken off the table, and you have to find an expression that's actually true for this moment instead.

  • No touching of ass, breasts, or genitals.

  • No kissing and no exchanging bodily fluids.

  • A hug is allowed, but don't stay there. The connection is in the eyes and the breath, and a hug ends both.

  • Either of you can add a boundary before you begin, and it holds without explanation.

  • A raised right hand means slow down. So does the word blueberry, said out loud, for when a hand can't be seen.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you buy

NOTE: For adults, 18 and over.

This recording contains explicit language and guided erotic practice between consenting partners.

It is a practice, not therapy, and it is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.

If there is unresolved harm in your relationship, work with a qualified professional first.

Do we need any experience?

No. The recording assumes you've never done this.

Every instruction is given in the moment, and being unsure what to do is treated as a normal part of the practice rather than a failure of it.

Is this sex?

No, and the rule against it is the whole point.

What happens afterward is your business, but the 50 minutes are not about arriving anywhere.

What if one of us gets overwhelmed?

You raise a hand, or you say blueberry, and everything slows down.

You set that up before you start, and it's honoured without discussion. You can also stop entirely at any point.

Can I do it by myself?

No. Every instruction is addressed to one of two people facing each other. Without a partner, there's nothing to practise.

Does this work for same-sex couples, or if we don't identify with these roles?

The practice uses masculine and feminine as energetic positions, not genders.

Any two people can run it. Decide who's holding which position before you press play, and consider swapping on a later run.

What should we wear, and what do we need?

Something you can move and breathe in. Two chairs or a floor, low light, phones in another room, and 50 minutes nobody will interrupt.
